The Travel Advisor’s Guide to Unforgettable Group Cruises

Over the years I have had a lot of success working with travel advisors (once called travel agents) on increasing value to their bookings. Typically the public things of a travel advisor as someone who you call to book a group for you or your family, but one of the more complex and exciting offerings is the ability for a travel advisor to work on the logistics of booking a larger group engagement.

Sometimes these engagements are booked at the request of an individual group organizer. Think about destination weddings, or family reunions at sea, just to name a few opportunities where one person or group may utilize the travel advisor to take over the logistics of a complicated booking.

However, from the travel advisor standpoint, organizing a group cruise, one in which they are putting together a discounted rate on a trip, most popularly occurring on cruise ships allowing that agent to consolidate the booking, likely get a free cruise for themselves, and expand their client base through referrals from current customers, and attracting new interest from the general public.

I have found that there are a number of very easy and straightforward ways to really elevate the group cruise experience, and make them not only a success from the beginning, but also create an on ongoing sense of higher value and loyalty for years to come.
